Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple: 130th Mormon Temple

President Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple today.

President Monson began the first of 9 dedicatory sessions for the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple following the cornerstone ceremony. Nearly 2,000 attendees are expected to attend each session over the next three days. On Sunday, August 23, two dedicatory sessions will be broadcast to selected Church meetinghouses throughout Utah, including ours. It will be a great experience to attend the dedication.

Nearly 600,000 visitors toured the building during the two-month public open house. Formal temple work will begin at the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple on Tuesday, August 25, 2009.

The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple is the 130th temple in the world, the 13th in Utah, and located in the only city (South Jordan) in the world that has two temples in its city limits.

Your blog is great! I was surfing around, looking for a good blog and this is it. One correction though. The temples are located in South Jordan, not West Jordan. Not a big deal.

Thanks. I've corrected it above to read "South Jordan."
