Holograms for virtual meetings and performances

Developers of holographic display are perfecting a technology that lets speakers and performers deliver speeches and entertain audiences without being there. They do it via hologram video projection of a 3-D image, like Princess Leia's message to Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars.

The video below is a performance by The Black Eyed Peas in January at the NRJ Awards (France's equivalent to the Grammys). This performance features Fergie and Taboo performing as holograms alongside Will. I. Am. and Apl.De.Ap using the Musion Eyeliner System. You can get the essence of the video by watching from 4:00-4:20. You can barely tell that the 2 people in the center are holograms.

Assailant Suffers Injuries From Fall

I'm sure this is manufactured, but it makes a point nonetheless.

Be Prudent and Conservative

"Many areas of the world have experienced difficult economic times. Businesses have failed, jobs have been lost, and investments have been jeopardized. We must make certain that those for whom we share responsibility do not go hungry or unclothed or unsheltered. When the priesthood of this Church works together as one in meeting these vexing conditions, near miracles take place.

"We urge all Latter-day Saints to be prudent in their planning, to be conservative in their living, and to avoid excessive or unnecessary debt. The financial affairs of the Church are being managed in this manner, for we are aware that your tithing and other contributions have not come without sacrifice and are sacred funds.

"Let us make our homes sanctuaries of righteousness, places of prayer, and abodes of love that we might merit the blessings that can come only from our Heavenly Father. We need His guidance in our daily lives."

Thomas S. Monson, "To Learn, to Do, to Be," Ensign, Nov. 2008, 60–61

Greatest Amount of Good

Joseph Smith said, “[God] never will institute an ordinance or give a commandment to His people that is not calculated in its nature to promote that happiness which He has designed, and which will not end in the greatest amount of good and glory to those who become the recipients of his law and ordinances.”

-History of the Church, 5:135.

In Defense of Mormons

In politics, traditional Christians should not spurn Mormons--they could help them make change. Mormons are model American citizens and natural social conservatives, not in spite of their religion but because of it.
