Why I'm Leaving Comcast

This is why I'm leaving Comcast:
  • I recently made a change in my service because the customer service person said it would "only change my bill a few dollars--definitely not more than $10."
  • I got my bill, and it was $257, up from $180.
  • I tried to chat online with Comcast to determine why (thinking that would be faster than calling), and I was put into a queue with 180 customers ahead of me. 20 minutes later, I had only 138 customers ahead of me. I gave up and called.
  • After two 30-minute phone calls, they still couldn't give me a satisfactory reason why my bill went up $80.
I'm switching providers, which should save me about $100 a month--$1,200 a year.

And the biggest joy will be in not having to deal with Comcast service reps on the phone!

Listen to this man's experience in trying to cancel his Comcast service (includes audio recording of the rep keeping the man on the phone for an extended period of time as he repeatedly asked why wanted to disconnect).

Hi there, I apologize for the billing frustration you've had recently. Allow me to take a look at your bill and see what I can do. I can be reached at Cassie_Hart@comcast.com.

Kind Regards,
Comcast Cassie

You have to play the Comcast game. Every time our contract expires, we cancel for a month. Then we go back and they give us a great deal for coming back. They don't care about keeping customers, but they want to get new ones. It's a pain, but I hate Century Link more than Comcast. so I play the game.

So I decided to keep the Comcast Internet, since no other provider can give me the speed I need, but since I changed from Triple Play to Internet only, Comcast is punishing me by charging their highest rate: $66.95/month!

So I went through a contractor to get a $29.99 introductory rate, but then I couldn't get Comcast to apply that rate. I talked with the contractor twice, 2 calls to Comcast, then 2 chat sessions with Comcast.

Finally, Comcast Cassie helped me get the $29.99/month applied. That was a lot of work!!!
